Happy Ending
Jan. 23rd, 2007 04:20 pmSome good news at last. Just returned from the hospital with my son and they have discharged him. After 16 years of hospital care. Okay, it's not a miracle cure. He will always have eczema, probably always have asthma, and barring a miracle he will never be able to eat anything containing cow-juice. But this means that, at last, he is managing it. He is dealing with his daily care routine and eating fairly sensibly. Won't touch green veggies and is deeply suspicious of any protein not covered in orange breadcrumbs, but basically his dietician is pleased with his progress and he is growing.
I am so proud of him. If there is anybody out there battling with a baby covered in eczema, I have been there, and there is light at the end of the tunnel. And I will always be prepared to donate to the National Eczema Society because they saved our sanity 16 years ago.
