Profile

I live in the North of England with my partner, two semi-independent children and my cat. I work as librarian in a school for children aged 4-11 and I'm close to completing an MA in Shakespeare and Theatre Studies at the University of Birmingham (UK). In a past life I wrote Doctor Who fanfic and I still nurture a secret passion for David Tennant (Well, I like to think it's secret but in fact my family outed me last Christmas when they gave me a full-size Tenth Doctor figure).

I love history and literature. After two years of enforced Shakespeare and early modern reading, I'm now moving on to the 18C and the Romantics. My favourite places are Devon, Cornwall, the south side of the river Thames (around the Globe Theatre), the Lake District and my garden. I like baking and making jam with the fruit we grow (this year that includes peaches, damsons, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, pears, apples and figs). I often wish I had more time to read. I'm walking a 630 mile coast path around the South West of England in stages with my partner. We've done about a third of it so far.
