In which I rant against Amazon

Okay, this is a rant. I've worked hard for it and nobody's going to deprive me of it.
Back on 22 November I ordered the S3 DVD box set from Amazon warehouse deals. I was too cheap to pay nearly £50 for it, something I now regret. They gave me a shipping date of anything up to 10 December, would you believe? It's still not here. It hasn't even been shipped, as far as I know. All that's happened for sure is the money's gone from my account.
Yes, I've e-mailed them, several times. When I contact Amazon, they tell me to contact warehousedeals. And vice versa. This has gone back and forth three or four times now. And the really annoying thing? Amazon.uk dropped the price down to just over £40 for the non-Saxon version, a matter of days after I ordered and paid £44.00. Since I'm in Amazon Prime I could have had it shipped within 24 hours for nothing.
I've been an Amazon seller for a couple of years and I really worry if I can't make the 48 hour deadline to ship goods out. Last Saturday I queued for ages at the post office to get a DVD out to someone who was desperate for it, and whose order had been delayed for days because Amazon told me their payment hadn't cleared when actually it had.
I'm beginning to wonder if they're deliberately running down their regular service in order to get us all to sign up for Prime. Meanwhile, they've some seriously bad feedback coming their way. Anyone had a similar experience in the UK this holiday season?
